Asics takes the second place of being one of the granddaddies of “dad sneakers” following New Balance of course. I know I keep repeating this statement, but yes, I am a sucker for a good pair of dad sneakers and this right here is a game changer. Before I get into it, let me explain what NAKED Copenhagen is… well, NAKED Copenhagen is defined as the number one online sneaker destination for women. They carry a wide selection of the latest footwear from popular sports and streetwear brands like Nike, adidas Originals, ASICS, Reebok, New Balance, Vans, and many more.
Asics and NAKED Copenhagen have now collaborated to bring us a vegan-friendly GEL-1130™ sneaker, yes a vegan-friendly sneaker. I love how almost all prominent shoe brands are going green and finding new different ways of continuing to make the best collaborative shoes while keeping sustainability in mind.
The GEL-1130™ features recycled materials in its upper, from the breathable mesh base to the brushed silver and sage-green synthetic faux-leather overlays – all the way to the laces are made from recycled materials! Co-branded sock liners, highlighting the collaborative brands respective hometowns of Copenhagen and Kobe, are printed using water-based detailing while rubberized logos rest on the tongue. Lastly, the box, co branded with water-based printing, is constructed entirely from recycled materials.
For our fourth collaboration, inspired by the message of living uplifted with ASICS, we wanted to explore how we could make the sneakers we want, just better.
