Ami Faku and Black Coffee Collaborate For Gallo Remixed

Black Coffee and Ami Faku team up in collaboration with Gallo Remixed to honour South African legends Letta Mbulu and Caiphus Semenya with the remake of ‘There’s music in the air’. The talented Afro Soul singer Ami Faku delivered vocals in an angelic tone that is soothing and heartwarming making her the perfect candidate for the song. The song still has a calming tone that instates the feeling of hope, love, and freedom…

I’m super excited for the release of this song. I have always wanted to work with Black Coffee and we finally found the perfect song and I do hope that people receive it well.

– Ami Faku

The original version of this classic tune was released back in 1976 and performed by the legendary South African jazz giant Letta Mbulu that has been singing since the 1960s. Now if you didn’t know, Letta Mbulu fled South Africa in 1964 together with Caiphus Semenya due to Apartheid where they met up with other South African exiles like Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, and Jonas Gwangwa and went to work with Cannonball Adderly, David Axelrod, and Harry Belafonte.
