Ayra Starr Is In No “Rush” On Her Latest Single

The fast-paced world in which we live places an immense amount of pressure on young people to achieve a perceived level of success within a given time frame or else you aren’t ‘winning’… in the eyes of society, at least. However, there is a shimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic turned our world upside down, there have been hoards of people from all walks of life coming forward and sharing their battle with mental health. One artist that has been forthcoming with every aspect of their life in their music is Ayra Starr. Her debut offering, titled 19 & Dangerous, saw her share the intimate struggles she has had to overcome in her life thus far and her latest single is no different.

Delving into a brand of Afrobeat typical of her, she effortlessly hovers over the production. Her ability to do so is not surprising, but I will tell you what is. She has a knack for being able to weave meaningful and impactful lyrics into a song without compromising on the melodic aspect of the music. Given that Ayra Starr is a graduate of the Mavin Academy, under the tutelage of Don Jazzy, we can expect nothing short of excellence from her. Listen to “Rush” below.
