Mbalentle Liziwe Kwanini known affectionately as Mamthug is a junior accountant who changed lanes and became a cultural curator and DJ. On Iqhawe Magazine she fully defines herself “as a connector, curator, creator, DJ, lover of people, vibe dealer and a groovist. Over the years I’ve become a city mythical creature that nobody knows what exactly I do but simplified I am really just a groovist.”
She founded a platform earlier this year, BeatsByHer, which is denounced as a platform aimed to showcase established and emerging alternative DJs, selectors, collectors and music enthusiasts (Beat Dealers) throughout South Africa. The event takes place at Untitled Basement, a two-in-one venue that includes a restaurant, Artivist, and a live music venue. Untitled Basement creates a space where you can experience the art of it all.

BeatsByHer announced their latest offering which is a celebratory launch event for their newest partnership with Apple Music, the BeatsByHer x Apple Music Mix. The event is taking place on the 21st of October 2022 and all you have to do to attend is RSVP. The line-up features Sis Madlisa, Katie 2.0, Chainz, Doda and S-girl.
