Beyonce Reimagines Stan Smiths With The New Ivy Park “Super Sleek” Shoe

Imagine an icon sneaker like the Adidas Stan Smiths being re-imagined by Beyoncé? Well, you don’t have to imagine it cause this new Ivy Park shoe is exactly that, hence we stan summer. This latest Ivy Park and Adidas partnerships brought us the Super Sleek, which was derived from the “Meet, the SUPER SLEEK”, a novel take on the classic Stan Smith silhouette that oozes simplicity and style.
In 1963, the first Adidas tennis shoe, known religiously now as the Adidas Stan Smith was produced and it was also the first leather tennis sneaker. Decades later it is still in a long line of classic Adidas kicks. The upper was made of white leather, while the studded outsole was made of rubber. In addition, there were now perforated holes where the classic three stripes had been on the predecessors. Horst Dassler, the son of the founder of Adidas, had the idea for this first leather tennis shoe.

The Ivy Park x Adidas Super Sleek sneaker still has its super sleek silhouette with a gum sole platform but it also combines elements from the Stan Smith, the cactus green and perforated holes and also elements of another iconic sneaker the Adidas Samba, on the tongue which is football-inspired. The shoelaces were replaced with three straps.
The collaboration comes with a set of IVY PARK branded socks in a pack of three. The socks are embellished with the Adidas signature three stripes in shades that echo the sneaker’s colourway. You shop this shoe at adidas.com
