Another artist out of the seemingly never ender conveyor belt of rappers in Pretoria, Bludbunz recently released a single titled “Smoke” featuring Roho and Phiwo. The single is from Bludbunz’ ‘Currently California 2’ which is dropping on the 1st of September.
From a production point of view, the single has a peculiar yet palatable execution. It gives the single a rhythm that one can’t quite catch and Bludbunz’ minimalistic approach to the song aids in giving “Smoke” its unique character. The addition of Roho and Phiwo provides a touch of ‘grounding’ in normalcy for the listener, but even so, we haven’t Roho utilising a trap flow prior to this, and Phiwo delivered a completely different cadence in comparison to what we have come accustomed to from her. If this is a taste of what we can expect from Bludbunz, then ‘Currently California 2’ should be on everyone’s pre-save list. Listen to “Smoke” below.
