I could begin this article by listing the endless list of streaming accolades and records that Drake has broken but I thought let’s not because he just broke another one. Drake is the first artist in the world to have over 50 Billion streams on Spotify.
Spotify, who is the main sponsor of Barcelona, will wear a special edition shirt with the OVO owl in place of the Spotify logo in arguably the biggest club fixture in the world, El Clasico. Keeping in the grandeur of the occasion, Barcelona shared a short reel of the shirt bearing Drake’s name on the back and the number 50, for obvious reasons. For those who are not in the world of football, El Clasico (The Classic) is a derby between the 2 Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona. The fixture on its own is the most viewed match in world football bringing in a global viewership of over 650 million. This occasion will be an unprecedented crossover of the world of pop culture and football, dwarfing the Paris Saint-Germain x Jordan collaboration.
