Mr JazziQ Is Apple Music’s Next Isgubhu Cover Star

Mr JazziQ (real name Tumelo Manyoni) solidifies his position as one of the most prominent pioneers of Amapiano with the release of his much-awaited debut album ALL YOU NEED IS PIANO (2022), which is streamable on Apple Music in Spatial Audio.

Mr JazziQ was first exposed to the avant-garde sounds of Oskido and Black Coffee by his father and uncle. By the time he was in his late teens, Mr JazziQ was an experienced DJ and producer. In 2017, he teamed up with Josiah De Disciple to form the Amapiano DJ duo, JazziDisciples, and in doing so, popularized the genre. But it was Mr JazziQ’s solo endeavor that saw him forge his Amapiano-based route, releasing his debut album Party With The English (2021) as a recognition of the genre’s global expansion.

Mr JazziQ has also made a unique Isgubhu playlist for Apple Music to commemorate his appearance, highlighting African sounds that have influenced him throughout his career.

“This is a selection of all the flavours I like from the African sound. It also has some sentimental experience for me. All these different sounds contribute a lot to my music personally and it’s been so motivating to be part of the music curation to bring all happiness to the people,”

– Mr. JazziQ

Isgubhu debuted in early 2021 on Apple Music and it is home to African Dance and Electronic music. It also promotes and elevates the work of African Electronic DJs, producers, and creators. Isgubhu, a Zulu word for “beat” used to refer to a banging song , honours a number of timeless genres and the African musicians who have had a major influence on the Dance and Electronic scene around the globe.
