Nigerian singer, songwriter and pianist Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel known by his stage name Mayorkun just released a new song titled ‘Oshey Boys.’ One could say Mayorkun’s music career sprouted when Davido discovered him on social media and gave him a co-sign. His first single titled ‘Eleko’ was released in 2016 and did quite well. He has since won a handful of awards.
Fast forward to the last few weeks of 2022 and Mayorkun has a new single and a new music video for ‘Alarm’ following its release on the 01st of December. The vibrant Afropop sound with an Amapiano twist from ‘Oshey Boys’ is perfect for the season we are in currently whereas ‘Alarm’ on the other hand is also nothing short of perfection, a traditional afrobeat masterpiece.
The ‘Alarm’ visuals were directed by Nigerian film director Dammy Twitch and they star Mayorkun alongside dancer and choreographer Big Coca. Listen to both records and watch the official music video of ‘Alarm’ below.
