Nike Finally Decides To Sue Bape


After two decades Nike has finally decided to sue Bape which has been selling a patent infringement of Nike’s Air force and Dunks. Nike claimed that the Japanese clothing line A Bathing Ape (also known as BAPE) is making replicas and that BAPE refused to stop when asked.
BAPE’s copying is and always has been unacceptable to Nike, and because BAPE’s infringements have recently grown to become a significant danger to Nike’s rights, Nike must act now

Nike wanted an undisclosed sum of money in damages in addition to asking the court to stop BAPE from continuing to sell the sneakers. Many people will find it intriguing considering BAPE has been releasing numerous of these styles for over ten years, most notably the BAPE STA. It would be interesting to know why Nike has decided to finally sue.
