Pabi Cooper has undoubtedly proved her detractors wrong in terms of her musical capabilities. Her debut EP, Isphithiphithi, performed extremely well commercially, earning Pabi Cooper her first hit featuring Reece Madlisa, Busta 929 and Joocy, which also received the visual treatment. The music video has amassed over 8 million views on YouTube at the time of writing, and if this was her way of getting a heat check, she undoubtedly knew that her talent and presence is nothing to scoff at. Earlier on in the year, Pabi Cooper gave us a taste of what else she has to offer with a single titled “Banyana Ke Bafana” with Amapiano juggernaut Focalistic, Ch’cco, Nobantu Vilakazi and LuuDadeejy.
Following the release of the aforementioned single, she delivered a single that saw her present something different to what we were accustomed to. Due to the overall joyful hue of her music, I wouldn’t have guessed that she can deliver on the opposite end of the emotional spectrum with a single like “Mama” featuring Khanyisa, Yumbs and Liebah.
