Runtown’s New Album “Signs” Is Finally Here

Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Runtown who has been MIA in the music scene hs finally made a comeback with a full body of work. As mentioned in the previous article about him, Runtown rose to stardom back in 2014 when he released ‘Gallardo’ featuring Davido. His first official comeback was six weeks ago with the release of ‘Things I Know’ a song which is the first official single of this new album $igns.
The mood and overall energy of the album were set by ‘Things I Know’, it’s safe to say the album is filled with enchanting afrobeat melodies with smooth synthesizers. $igns was released on the 16th of December and encompasses thirteen songs and only one feature. The opening song ‘Signs’ is a mellow reggae record and it drew its inspiration from my all-time favourite Damian Marley and his album Welcome to Jamrock.
The rest of the album is nothing short of beautifully written, composed and produced afrobeat songs. “Signs spares no feelings as it floats between themes of love, faith and growth while delving into genres like sultry ’80s pop, Afropop and reggae and showcasing a wiser, more grown-up version of Runtown.”
Signs is me showing my skillset as a composer and producer because I produced most of it..
