Sha Sha Flexes Her Versatility On “Give Me Something” Single

New Music Fridays are the most infamous day of the week as an editorial writer. You are given approximately 2 minutes to digest over 20 songs and write a compelling piece about your feelings on each song. Needless to say, it is difficult to remain objective and impartial as you might not be in the mood to listen to a particular type of music. But once in a while, the music gods send a gem your way and one of your favourite artists delivers a song that offers up the perfect start to the day. Sha Sha delivered a surprise single titled “Give Me Something” featuring Rowlene, and saying that I am pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Given her track record, I would have expected something along the borders of Amapiano, but that wasn’t the case at all. This is an unapologetically R&B record that stays true to the roots of the genre, bleeding vulnerability with the vocal performance to match. I think if I go any further I’ll be over-exposing my affliction for Sha Sha. Listen to “Give Me Something” below.
