The Original Black Panther Sequel Plot Was Rooted in T’Challa’s perspective

There are really just a handful of days until the official theatrical debut of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and prior to that day though, director Ryan Coogler has revealed what the original plot for the film would’ve been had the unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman not happened. In a new editorial shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Coogler speaks about the early version of the sequel’s script which was written before the passing.

In the article, Ryan Coogler says that the script they had written before Chadwick passed was very much rooted in T’Challa’s perspective… “It was a massive movie but also simultaneously a character study that delved deeply into his psyche and situation.” Ryan Coogler elaborated. Nate Moore, Marvel Studios’ Vice President of Production & Development, also added, “The Black Panther has existed in Wakanda for centuries, so the notion of someone else picking up the mantle didn’t seem inorganic.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to debut in theaters on November 11.
