The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clogs Are Unmatched

Defined as a “creative by trade” Salehe Bembury is an American footwear designer who specialises in luxurious streetwear style. He has previously worked with Ye as the designer of Yeezy Gap, he has also designed for Cole Haan and worked as the vice president of sneakers and men’s footwear at Versace.

Bembury has collaborated with a number of brands namely; Vans Vault, Adidas and New Balance just to name a few, but the stand out for me has to be his collaboration with Crocs which brought us the Crocs Pollex Clog. Crocs express this collaborative clog as an exploration of form and function that balances heritage with the most innovative mold in the shoe business. It is also said to be an entirely new direction for their Classic Clog, composed of 3 of Salehe’s signature fingerprints merged together, with dramatic concave ridges allowing for multi-directional traction.

The Crocs Pollex Clog was first teased in July 2021 on Bembury’s Instagram page and got released later on the 14th of December 2021 in three colourways; Spackle, Menemsha, & Cucumber. Since the first release there have been new releases with different colourways. Yesterday Shelflife had a raffle for the “Cobbler” colourway which was first released on the 18th of August on beaspunge.com, the raffle only ran for an hour and the winners get announced today. This must-have clog retails for R1699 each.
