Thebe Magugu is About To Host What Might Be Party Of The Year

To celebrate the 5-year milestone of the brand, Thebe Magugu has decided to throw a celebratory party with all his valued friends, family, clients and fashion-forward followers. Thebe Magugu had first released a campaign for the party in a really cool format where he made it seem like it was a lawsuit with a couple of creatives posting the same thing.

When deciding the theme, there was no contest – one of the most visually engaging films I have ever watched is Sweet Charity (1969), a dazzling movie about a hopeless romantic who despite heartbreak and set-backs, soldiers on with heart. In a critical scene, titled “Rich Man’s Frug”, Charity enters a club called Pompeii and is confronted by the most fabulous, most bizarre party guests – a room I’ve longed to be in. Now, we make our own!

The party will be on the 10th of December in Downtown Jozi and Johannesburg-based brand friends and family can apply to attend the Pompeii Club (1969) party by responding to a 5-question questionnaire by clicking here or Thebe Magugu’s brand bio. If your application is approved, you will receive a ticket and a PDF with the dress code, it is also advised to follow the dress code if you don’t want to be denied access at the door as there will be 3 fashion editors outside the door.
Whether you are Amapiano, Qqom, Hip-Hop, or House lover, Thebe Magugu promises that the lineup will cater for all. i-D Magazine will be there to document.
Last week, Thebe Magugu hosted ‘Confections & Collections’ – a High Tea Experience where guests enjoyed a menu curated by Thebetsile Magugu and a showcase of key pieces from the SS23 ‘Discard Theory’. That was held at Belmont’s Mount Nelson in Cape Town and conceived by TWYG.
