thisisneverthat is a contemporary streetwear brand based in Seoul, South Korea. They make designs that nod to 90s and early 2000s streetwear. From typography-heavy tees, sweats to hoodies, their popular Pertex down jackets and more. New Balance and thisisneverthat have such a great collaborative relationship which brings tears of joy to my eyes cause I’m such a sucker for “dad kicks.”
Their collaborative relationship started with a remake of the M997s and 860 V2, now they have worked on the 1906R and the 2002R with an apparel collection as the cherry on top. The new 1906R collaborative design is distinctive in its design as it features spots of discolouration throughout the base layer to channel a pre-worn aesthetic while the 2002Rs take more of a simpler route as it is presented in a more cleaner grey and navy colour-blocking.
These pairs are being released alongside an apparel with items that range from; coach jackets, nylon shorts, hoodies, t-shirts and hats that are all embellished with the phrase “The 2022 Downtown Run” and of course co-branding.
