Tom Sachs is an American contemporary artist who lives and works in New York City. On his website he is described as, “a sculptor, probably best known for his elaborate recreations of various Modern icons, all of them masterpieces of engineering and design of one kind or another.”
Tom Sachs has a new collaborative release with Nike General Purpose which isn’t as boring as the first one. This new colourway “Archive” is vibrant and colourful and it’s a pair of sneakers I might actually wear… and the NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.0 ofcourse.
This sneaker is a product of our ongoing research into how our bodies meet the ground. We opened up the archive, wore it out, stripped it down, kept what worked and added what was missing in pursuit of a perennial sneaker. An ever-better sneaker. A never-settle sneaker. A round-the-clock, made-to-last, built-to-code sneaker.SNKRS
The shoe was released on the 2nd of September and it’ll be restocked on the 26th of September 2022. It is retailing for $110 (R1 895,22).
