The 23-year-old rapper from North Caroline who exhibits black liberation in his craft – Mavi has newly released the second single titled ‘Dove’ along with its visuals from his upcoming sophomore album Laughing so Hard, It Hurts. Directed by Lonewolf, the visuals are a cinematic demonstration of childhood innocence with Jabari playing young Mavi whilst the lyrics detail trauma and growth.
“The concept was just about how the song is really reflective and me assessing the damages and progress over me becoming a man, and stuff I’ve left in my wake – for better or for worse”, explained Mavi on Paper Mag.
