YouTube Announce Africa Day Concert Lineup

Between 1945 and 1967, a number of African countries gained independence from European colonies, with Ghana being the first sub-Saharan nation to gain its independence in 1957. Then-president, Kwame Nkrumah, held the first conference of African countries, including Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, Liberia, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. This was the precursor to what would become the African Union(AU) which was formed on the 25th of May, 1967.

In their continued effort in supporting all things African, YouTube is holding its annual Africa Day concert hosted by mulit award winning actor, Idris Elba. They have announced a star-studded lineup for the celebration, including Kamo Mphela, Busiswa, D’Banj, Davido and many more. The event will be live-streamed on YouTube at 6 PM WAT.
